First pages of chapter don't have an indention or a page number, and start at least 1/3 down the page. Do NOT use TABS, use proper indents, and set them at 0.25, not 0.5"!
Non-fiction uses no indention, but white space between paragraphs.
Find a book on your shelf from a big publisher and study it!
