When Searon denies helping a wizard to start a war, he gets frozen in a slab of orange ice and persuaded to change his mind. Not knowing what else to do, he reluctantly agrees to the wizard’s plan of uniting the humans and elves to strike against the fierce draeyks. The problem is the humans are too corrupt to join an alliance and the elves are too stubborn. All of their hope lies in the assistance of a lone elf that fights the draeyks on a path to find her malevolent sister.
At first Searon’s quest is all about revenge, but he soon discovers how selfish he’s been as he meets new allies. He realizes that there’s more than only him who suffered from the claws of the draeyks and other threats of the land. Convincing the elves turns out to be not as easy as the wizard would have him believe, and without an alliance between the elves and men, the entire land of Calthoria might be at stake. He will stop at nothing to keep his new friends safe, even if it means sacrificing himself to prove to the elves that his cause is worthy.
